The hyperActive GH blog is BACK. And tonight we have Darlington, a rep from the "Avant Garde Prom" organizers to tell us something about it.
hyperActive (HA): Whatsup Darlington?
Darlington (DT): God has been good.
HA: Moving on,what is Avant Garde? For the sake of the people who are seeing this for this first time.
DT: Avant Garde is a prom, a night full of class and elegance where couples meet to have great fun. It's not the first of its kind though. Its organized annually but we are in charge this year.
HA: Why the name "Avant Garde"?
DT: To my understanding, 'Avant Garde' means 'something unique', and you and I know this program is very unique from what we all experienced during out high school days .
HA: So are there any specific requirements for this event?
DT: Most importantly, your ticket, which has been reduced to 80gh for couple and 50gh for singles, then any classy wear and what I mean by classy wear is not only tuxedos as most of the "boys" think it should be, but it could be a nice African print.
HA: Why were the tickets reduced ?
DT: Because alot of people thought it was too expensive.
HA: hyperActive from our sources heard the sale of tickets isn't too good and if Avant Garde organizers are not able to sell 100 tickets by today (11th June 2014) you will call it off. Is it TRUE
DT: IT IS NOT TRUE.
HA: Now the reduction of the prices of the tickets. How effective has it been ? Don't you think it would have still been cool if the price was 100cedis for couple and 50cedis for single?
DT: Because we think about the people very much and we saw that many people were eager to pay at a reduced price, but even before the reduction, the response was very good and we are getting better response now.
HA: So, how's the sale of tickets going?
DT: Good, positive feed-backs. Even now that they are selling the tickets at the mall. It has been good.
HA: So, are we're looking at a mega turn up?
DT: Sure. Close to 500 couple.
HA: What were or are the challenges in bringing up this Avant Garde prom?
DT: First of all, funds. Gathering money to be able to get those 2 ball rooms at the hotel (Movenpick) was not easy but with God we made it and secondly the hype. The hype because, people thought we could not hire a 5 star hotel for such a program they were like "come on guys just got outta high school"
HA: Rumors have it that you people were supported by Charter House and tigo.True? [6/11/2014]
DT: With the hype and advertisement I know GhOne TV is with us because Dubby, one if the organizers went for an interview on the channel last Friday but don't really know about tigo.
HA: Rumor also had it R2bees is gonna be there...how far??
DT: Yeah sure they're gonna be there. ..
HA: Now the Moulin Rouge is over,you saw and heard what happened, many say it "flopped". Do you think it will have an effect on Avant Garde or it makes you people scared?
DT: Not at all. They're two different events all together. I think they didn't put enough work.We cool, no pressure from them at all

DT: Yeah. Anyone can hit us up for performance. Rappers, dancers, anyone who has something to showcase.
HA: We only know "Avant Garde organizers". Who are they?
DT: Well they are Kelly, Richard, Karima and Erica Williams (main organizers) and Dubby, Kay Bizzle, Senyo, Safi, Kunim, Kiki Ashong, Terencia, Dromeryda, and I, Darlington . Don't know about the rest though.
HA: Now tell us, why someone should come for Avant Garde Prom?
DT: You really have to come. Who does not want to experience anything like this? Never been done in our batch and those who tried did not "hit" it .The venue, guests artistes, just come and experience a "NIGHT FULL OF CLASS".
HA: Is there going to be anything like prom king and queen, best dressed couple?
DT: Yeah, then why is it a prom if you don't have any nominations for those awards? you can hit Karima up for that.
HA: Describe Avant Garde Prom in 2 words.
DT: Classy and Fun.
